DARREN EWAN
Coach
I began my boxing journey at the age of 16, initially competing in the white-collar boxing scene, where I quickly discovered a deep passion and respect for the sport. This passion ultimately led me to pursue a path in coaching, with the goal of sharing my knowledge and love for boxing with others.
I first qualified as a Level 1 Amateur Boxing Coach through England Boxing, where I gained valuable experience in coaching fundamentals and developing athletes at the grassroots level. Building on that foundation, I later achieved my Level 2 England Boxing Coaching qualification, which enabled me to take on more prominent responsibilities, including leading training sessions both in schools and within the boxing club, as well as taking charge of cornering fighters during competitions—an aspect of coaching I find particularly rewarding.
Currently, I am working towards completing a Diploma in Personal Training with the International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB). This qualification is expanding my expertise in weight training, nutrition, and strength and conditioning. My aim is to integrate this knowledge into my boxing coaching, helping athletes achieve an optimal balance between speed, power, and overall physical performance.
Boxing is more than a sport—it’s a discipline, a mindset, and a way of life that I strive to pass on with every session, every round, every fight.
